Meet the Team
David J. Mozersky, MD
Dr. Mozersky grew up in Winnipeg Canada and is a graduate of the University of Manitoba Medical School. After his internship at the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1965, Dr. Mozersky moved to New York and began a five year residency in General Surgery at the famed Mount Sinai hospital. In 1969 he was appointed Chief Resident. During his General Surgery training, he became interested and inspired to study Vascular Surgery, and began a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle.
After his fellowship, Dr. Mozersky served his active duty military stint in San Antonio as assistant chief of the vascular service at Wilford Hall. In 1974 he began the first private practice dedicated to Vascular Surgery in San Antonio. Over the thirty years that have since passed, that practice, Peripheral Vascular Associates, has grown to include 16 partners and is the dominant vascular surgical practice in South Texas.
In 1999,he founded the first free standing Varicose Vein Clinic in San Antonio. This clinic was the forerunner of the Veintec system of clinics with locations throughout Texas, in Mexico, and in Chile.
In 2001, laser treatment of varicose veins became available. This method uses tumescent anesthesia and laser energy to destroy diseased and unsightly varicose veins. Since that time, Dr. Mozersky and his partners Dr. Alfred Laborde and Robert Thompson have performed over 2,000 of these procedures. In early 2009 Dr. Mozersky was struck by the fact that the laser instruments and anesthetic techniques he used to treat his patients with varicose veins were revolutionizing body sculpture. Subsequently, in June of that year he began training in body sculpture and other cosmetic procedures. He is an expert at laser-assisted liposuction, water-assisted liposuction, and laser skin-tightening, and has pursued his long-standing interest in facial rejuvenation.
Dr. Mozersky has the respect of both the San Antonio medical community and his many patients and friends. He has received many General and Vascular Surgical honors, including certification by the American Board of General Surgery, and the American Board of Vascular surgery; Fellow of the American College of Surgeons; Fellow of the American College of Phlebology; Member Bexar County Medical Society; Distinguished member Society for Vascular Surgery; Society of University Surgeons; founding member San Antonio Vascular Society; Member America Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons; Chief of staff San Antonio Community Hospital; and authored more than 65 papers and presentations.
